MELCHIONNO, Nicholas J. “Nick” of Holbrook formerly of
Braintree passed away December 24, 2009 at the age of 80. Husband of the late Doris K. (Lotti) Melchionno. Loving father of Marie L. Burton and her husband Edward of Whitman, Janet Warner and her husband Michael of Whitman and Michael J. Melchionno and his wife Lori of W. Newton. Devoted brother of Mary Graziano of Braintree, Grace Florio, Robert Melchionno, and Leonard Melchionno all of Brockton, the late Theresa Cordaro, Elsie Vignoni, Rose Bonani, Albert Melchionno, Henry Melchionno, Thomas Melchionno, Gloria Barrale, and Antoinette Smith. Brother –in-law of Gloria Melchionno of Avon. Beloved and devoted “Papa” to Edward Burton of Whitman, Craig and Emily Warner of Whitman and Grace and Harry Melchionno of W. Newton. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, dear friends and longtime neighbors. He was especially grateful for the kind and compassionate care he received during the past 10 years from the professional staff at the DaVita Dialysis Center in Weymouth. Mr. Melchionno was born and raised in Braintree where he attended Braintree Schools. He was owner and operator of Marshfield Auto Body for many years and went on to work at Collision Craftsman of Abington where he retired from at the age of 70. Nick was a longtime member of the Timber Lanes Bowling League, Abington. He was truly a devoted family man, especially to his grandchildren. Reposing at the Cartwright Funeral Home, 69 So. Franklin St., (Rte. 37) Holbrook until 8:00 AM Monday followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:00 AM in St. Joseph Church, Holbrook. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00 PM. Burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Randolph.
