FREDERICKSON, Frank E. Frederickson, 82,of Randolph and Sandwich, passed away peacefully on January 23rd at his daughter’s home from complications associated with Alzheimer’s Disease. Frank was the beloved husband of the late Clare W. (Frawley). He is survived by his children Noreen Clements of Abington, Cathy Gambino of Abington, Linda Sullivan of Sandwich , Frank Frederickson of Barnstable and Suzanne Giannotti of Marston Mills. He is also the grandfather of William and Kevin Clements, Michelle LaMattina, Richard and Kaitlyn Gambino, Jillian Nascarella, Brett and Katie Sullivan, and Corey and Rachel Frederickson, and brother of the late Shirley McDonnell. Frank is also survived by 6 great grandchildren.
Frank was born in Boston and was a lifelong resident of Randolph. Since the 1950’s he spent his summers at his home in Sandwich. Frank served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He later joined the Randolph Police where he worked for 32 years before retiring in 1982. Frank was named the Department’s first Lieutenant in 1961, and was acting Chief from 1979 - 1982. He was involved in the home building and driveway installation business for many years. He was a member of the Retired Mass Police Assoc., Randolph Lodge of Elks, AMVETS, VFW, and American Cribbage Congress. Frank loved fishing and hunting, as well as playing cards and cribbage. Most of all, however, he will be remembered as a generous man, who had a quick wit and enjoyed practical jokes.Visiting hours are Tuesday 4-8pm at the Cartwright Funeral Home, 419 No. Main Street,( Rte 28), Randolph. Funeral Mass will be held at 10am on Wednesday in St. Mary Church, 211 No. Main Street, Randolph. Burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Randolph. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Frank’s name to the Randolph Police Assoc., 41 South Main St., Randolph, Ma 02368.
