GRANT, Rose J. (James) of Braintree formerly of Lexington passed away June 7, 2010 at the age of 88. Beloved wife of Richard J. Grant. Loving mother of Patricia G. Smith and her husband Ronald S. Smith of Braintree and the late Susan G. Rowell. Dear mother-in-law of David V. Rowell of Atkinson , NH . Sister of the late Dorothea Farrar and Edith Honeth. Devoted “Grandma” of Matthew of Boston, Timothy, and Jonathan of Atkinson, NH and Grant, Kara and Ross all of Braintree . Daughter of the late Rev. Marinus James PHd and Rose (Chestnut) James. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Rose was born in Norfolk VA , grew up in Norwood and was a graduate of Norwood High School and graduate of Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School. She has lived in Braintree for the past 3 years and prior to that she had lived in Lexington for many years. She was a very active member of the First Baptist Church of Lexington as well as the Republican Club. Former member of Lexington Golf Course. At the family’s request visiting hours have been omitted. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend funeral services Thursday at 11:00 AM in the First Baptist Church ,1580 Massachusetts Avenue Lexington , MA 02420-3888. Burial in Mt.
