VERNON, Donna W. (Morrison) of Braintree formerly of St. Peter’s, VERNON, Donna W. (Morrison) of Braintree formerly of St. Peter’s, Nova Scotia, Canada passed away February 28, 2012 at the age of 89. Beloved wife of the late Hubert Vernon. Loving mother of John Vernon of E. Providence, RI, Joan Watson of Niskayuna, NY, Anne Vernon of Hopkinton, MA, James Vernon of S. China, ME, Carol Ferreira of Cocco Beach, FL, Paul Vernon of Bridgewater and the late Richard Vernon. Daughter of the late Jessie Flora (Ross) and Archibald Morrison. Sister of the late Laura Rogal Olah, Harry Morrison, Ross Morrison, Jean McNeil and Anne Martin. Also survived by 18 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and will be lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Donna was born in St. Peter’s Nova Scotia where she grew up and was educated and had lived in Braintree for over 40 years. She worked for the South Shore VNA for 20 years as a home health aide retiring over 20 years ago. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family as well as playing bridge, an avid bowler and an enthusiastic Red Sox fan. Reposing at the Cartwright-Venuti Funeral Home, 845 Washington St., Braintree. Funeral services Monday at 10:30 AM in the funeral home. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday from 3:00 to 7:00 PM. Burial will take place in the VA National Cemetery, Bourne, MA.
