O'KEEFE, John J., III, “JJ”, B.P.D., of Canton, formerly of Braintree, passed away suddenly on January 29, 2022, at the age of 46. Born and raised in Braintree, John graduated from Braintree High School and later Northeastern University. He then went on to earn his master’s degree in criminal justice from UMass. John was a Boston Police Officer for the past 16 years. A devoted son, brother, uncle, godfather, cousin and friend, John will be sorely missed by all who were blessed to have known him. John was the loving uncle and guardian of Kayley and Patrick Furbush of Canton. Dear son of John and Margaret O’Keefe of Braintree. Devoted brother of Paul O’Keefe and his wife Erin of W. Bridgewater and the late Kristen O’Keefe Furbush and her late husband Stephen Furbush. Beloved uncle to Reese and Ryan O’Keefe. Dear godfather to Addison and Benjamin. Also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday, February 6th, from 3:00 – 7:00 PM in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 850 Washington St., Braintree. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 11:30 AM in St. Francis of Assisi Church. Burial will follow in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
